I have found my calling and that is to be a Certified Public Accountant. Numbers are my cup of tea and unlike science, math is pretty much straight forward and precise. CPA’s are financial advisers who helps individuals, businesses, and other organizations to plan and reach their financial goals. There are the three E’s that are required for licensure: Education, Exam, and Experience.
In the Education criteria, must have a bachelor’s degree or at least 150 semester hours completed. There are a number of accounting hours that are dependent on state requirements. The exam that needs to be taken is called the Uniform CPA Exam. This computer-based exam consists of four sections: Auditing and Attestation, Business Environment and Concepts, Financial Accounting and Reporting, and Regulation. It will be the same test anywhere you go. A passing score will be a 75 or higher. Lastly, the candidate must have one to two years of experience under a CPA. Also, there are several opportunities for internships in this field.
